Florence 1 seniors earned $18,375,403 in scholarships last spring. Here is where that money came from and how your student finds theirs.
These three scholarships are available to any South Carolina resident who meets the academic criteria. They are not competitive in the traditional sense — if you meet the requirements, you receive the award.
Requires a 3.0 final high school GPA. Worth up to $2,800 for your freshman year at a four-year South Carolina institution. Available for the first year only. Awarded automatically once your final transcript is verified by your college.
Requires a 3.0 high school GPA and either a 1100 SAT or 17 ACT, or graduation in the top 30 percent of your class. Worth up to $5,000 per year for up to four years at an eligible South Carolina institution. Renewable each year if you maintain a 3.0 collegiate GPA and complete 30 credit hours annually.
The most competitive state scholarship. Two paths to qualify: Path 1 — a 3.5 cumulative GPA with a 1200 SAT or 25 ACT score and top-six-percent class rank. Path 2 — a 4.0 cumulative GPA with a 1400 SAT or 31 ACT score. Worth up to $6,700 in your freshman year and $7,500 per year for the following three years.
Your school counselor must submit this application — you cannot do it yourself. Start this conversation in the fall of your junior year.

ECCF administers 11 scholarship funds through a single unified application, which means Florence 1 students can apply for multiple scholarships in one submission. In 2025, ECCF awarded $47,000 to 26 students across the Pee Dee region.
Worth up to $10,000 over four years for Florence 1 students pursuing performing arts or music education at a South Carolina institution or UNC Pembroke.
Includes a paid summer internship for the recipient.
The 2026 application window closed February 28. The 2027 window is expected to open in late fall or early winter.

The 2027–28 FAFSA opens October 1, 2026. South Carolina distributes need-based aid on a first-come, first-served basis — submit as early as possible after that date.
