6th–8th Grade

Hey, Future Leaders

You're not quite in high school yet — but the stuff you do now matters. Here's where to start.

Why This Page Is Different

Most of Florence Forward is written for high schoolers and people about to graduate. You're not there yet.

This page is for you. It has stuff you can actually do right now — clubs, sports, programs, and things that look good on your resume when you get to high school.

Nothing here costs much (or anything). You don't need perfect grades. You just need to show up.

Here's the Thing

Stuff That Actually Helps Later

You don't have to be perfect. You just have to start building good habits now.

Keep Your Grades Up

I know, I know. But when you're applying for scholarships in high school, you'll wish you had. It's easier to keep a good GPA than to fix a bad one.

Get Involved Somewhere

Clubs, sports, church groups, volunteer work — doesn't matter what. Colleges and scholarships want to see that you show up and do things.

Build Real Relationships

Your teachers, coaches, and counselors will remember you. Be the kid who shows up, tries, and treats people well. That stuff pays off later.

The real secret?

Most people who end up with scholarships and opportunities didn't start with better grades than you. They started earlier. That's it.
